Shivanath Rural Municipality has officially started its yearly scholarship program for students going to college to study technical subjects. This is a great way for the municipality to support education among its young people. The program’s main goal is to give economically disadvantaged students in the town more power by lowering their costs and making it easier for them to get a good education.
According to Chairperson Karan Singh Saud, the municipality is committed to advancing educational scholarship for underprivileged learners. “Every year, we provide scholarships to deserving candidates. This year as well, we are inviting applications from eligible students committed to careers in the technical sector,” he stated during the announcement.
A Step Toward Educational Equity
The scholarship scheme—initially launched last year—focuses on technical disciplines such as medicine, engineering, information technology, agriculture, and applied sciences. It aims to reduce educational disparity and foster talent development in sectors crucial to national growth.
Who Can Apply?
The program is open to:
- Permanent residents of Shivanath Rural Municipality
- Students enrolled in higher-level technical education programs (diploma, undergraduate, or equivalent)
- Individuals from financially marginalized backgrounds

Selection and Support

The town has set aside NPR 400,000 for the project this year, which is a little less than the NPR 500,000 they gave last year but still a big investment in the future of the region.
