What This Means

Even though the district is officially literate, some people still need help learning to read and write, especially in Simkot, Kharpunath, and Sarkegad. Officials say they will continue running literacy classes and support programs to help the remaining people.

This achievement is a big step for education in Humla. But teachers and local leaders believe that real progress will come when everyone, including adults, can use writing and reading in their daily lives.
