LBEF (Lord Buddha Education Foundation) College has launched an exciting new initiative called Career Pathways — a free training and scholarship program tailored for students who have recently graduated from Grade 12 (+2) examinations and are eager to explore a future in the information technology (IT) sector.
This two-phase program blends hands-on training with expert mentorship and scholarship incentives, offering students a structured starting point for a rewarding career in tech.
Phase I: 15-Day Foundation Program in IT
The first phase is a 15-day foundational course currently running at the LBEF College premises. Conducted from 12:15 PM to 2:15 PM, the sessions aim to equip participants with basic knowledge and exposure to core IT concepts. A total of 25 students are enrolled in this batch.
Topics covered in Phase I include:
- Overview of career opportunities in Nepal’s growing IT sector
- Fundamentals of programming logic and coding
- Basic cybersecurity and digital safety practices
- Introduction to web development tools and techniques
- Fundamentals of mobile app development and user-friendly design
To encourage consistent participation, students are required to maintain at least 80% attendance to qualify for the second phase.
Phase II: Advanced Web Designing Program
Phase II is a 6-day advanced training course that focuses on web design. Only the best students from Phase I will be able to continue on to Phase II.
This phase goes deeper into frontend design for students. It covers:
- Principles of UI/UX design and color theory
- Hands-on sessions with HTML5, CSS3, Flexbox, and responsive layouts
- Use of Bootstrap for mobile-ready web development
- Design prototyping using tools like Figma and Canva
- Final demo project presentation during Demo Day
At the end of the program, the two best-performing students will be awarded a scholarship of Rs. 50,000 each toward their BSc IT studies at LBEF.
